I am the CEO of Softworld Ventures, a software development company based in Benin City, Nigeria. Here are some key details about me, experience and contributions to society thus far:
- Background and Experience:
- I have been an active professional software developer since 1993.
- I have expertise in various technologies, including VB6, Asp.Net and now cross-platform development with Xanarin.Forms.
- Over the years, I have either singularly developed (or actively participated in creating) over 20 commercial software solutions, most of which are actively in use in different parts of Nigeria.
- I have been leading Softworld Ventures since 1996.
- I produced and presented a LIVE weekly Radio Show (Na Which Work You Dey Do?) on Radio Nigeria Bronze 101.5 for over 2 years and also on Speed 96.7 FM for a year betwee 2017 and 2021.
- I gave a technical presentation on the Best Practices for Protecting ICT Data in Organizations from major theft and loses at the bi-annual ICT Day of the University of Benin in 2018.
- I have been the Financial Secretary of the Covenant Multi-Purpose Society Ltd, a major multi-purpose cooperative society based in Benin City, Edo State since 2020.
- I have been married to Gladys Idiake for the past 24 years and we have had four children together.
- Innovations:
- One of my most prominent innovations is an SMS platform that enables two-way SMS notifications. This platform allows both senders and receivers to interact via SMS simultaneously.
- From this platform, we created the World’s 1st Digital (SMS) Lost & Found Service, which is completely free.
- Online Radio Station:
- I am also the Chief Promoter of an Online Radio Station called goodnewsradio.ng. This radio station is dedicated to promoting Nigerian MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises).
- Academic Background:
- I hold a B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Benin, where I achieved a 2nd Class (Upper Division) in 1993.
- Awards and Achievements:
- Softworld Electronic (SMS) Voting Platform: I received a Copyright certificate for their innovative software solution aimed at addressing electoral-related malfeasance in developing countries.
- 234Aproko Kia-Kia Service: Another Copyright award was given for my SMS innovation platform that enables two-way communication via SMS.
- I also have received two other copyright certificates for some of our creative works: Our soon-to-air Can You Really Speak Your Language Reality TV Show and our IMEITracker Smartphone App.
This one just came in TODAY (12th Aug 2024). My registration as a Data Controller/Processor with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Abuja, which officially signals that we can responsibly handle the “very” sensitive privacy data of our subscribers on our several software apps, especially the 234Aproko Kia-Kia Service and of course, the IMEITracker Smartphone App.
